Aberdeen Art:laB DeNovo is a forthcoming art exhibition to be held in the atrium of the Institute of Medical Sciences. The exhibition will balance high specification, strongly defined digital imagining with traditional and mixed media approaches with the aim of bringing together the fields of science and art and will feature the work of seven internationally exhibiting artists with an array of backgrounds and motivations, including the University of Aberdeen’s own Kevin Mackenzie.
Kevin has won multiple prizes for his striking close-up photographs, most recently at the 2015 Wellcome Trust Image awards for his impressive shot of the eye of a greenfly.
Aberdeen Art:laB is running a competition to have your own piece of artwork displayed at the exhibition. They are accepting submissions of images (e.g. microscopy stills, drawings, prints and paintings), animations and short films.
Entries must be received no later than the 17th of April and are limited to two submissions per person. Two winning entries will be selected, printed and framed for display at the IMS.

The Art:laB DeNovo exhibition will run in the Institute of Medical Sciences atrium at the University of Aberdeen from the 4th to the 22nd of May.
