Do you like eating potatoes? Male Volunteers wanted

PotatoesThe Rowett Research Institute
Zinc in potatoes (ZiP Study)

The Human Nutrition Unit at the institute is looking for male volunteers to help investigate whether eating naturally zinc-enriched potatoes can improve body zinc levels and health. Some Scottish diets are generally low in zinc and low zinc status can lead to health problems. The study will use potatoes that have been fortified with zinc to see whether they improve zinc status and potentially general health when eaten by volunteers. The institute is recruiting:

  • Healthy men
  • Age 18-50
  • Normal to overweight (BMI 19-35 kg/m2)
  • Not taking any long term medication or health supplements
  • Non-smokers
